Plot Summary:
Little Caesar follows Rico “Little Caesar” Bandello, a small-time hood who rises rapidly through the violent ranks of organized crime in Prohibition-era America. Driven by ambition and a thirst for power, Rico kills his way to the top, becoming one of the most feared mob bosses in Chicago. Yet as his influence grows, so do the enemies plotting his downfall, and the violent world he helped build threatens to consume him in turn. This film is widely recognised as one of the first major sound-era gangster pictures and helped establish both its star Edward G. Robinson and the genre’s classic template.
